About the cottage
The location and views are stunning, with sea and harbour views from each room of the house. The front door opens onto the Beck and there is a stone seat under the window where you can sit and let time and the world pass by. The cottage is south-facing and enjoys beautiful light for most of the day. Generations of artists have painted the views outside the cottage and around the village. People visit the cottage to holiday, work, write or paint. Peace and quiet are guaranteed. Equally, there is internet broadband to keep you 'connected'. The choice is yours.
Please note: the cottage is non-smoking, and we regret we cannot accommodate pets. We now have an unlimited Broadband & WiFi connection. Living room & kitchen: On the ground floor is the kitchen and living room with exposed beams, a terracotta floor and a beautiful stone fireplace and open fire. There is a huge squashy sofa and a TV with DVD and a selection of films. The living room has a BT broadband and telephone. The kitchen is equipped with a ceramic hob and double oven, with a butler sink, micro-wave, washing machine and dishwasher, quality pans and utensils, and table settings for six. A dining table and chairs are by the bay window and you can watch the sun go down over the village whist you enjoy your food and wine. Upstairs there are two further large double bedrooms and a bathroom. Bathroom: The bathroom has a roll-top Victorian bath and under floor heating and an ample supply of hot water. Bedroom 1: The first bedroom has an antique walnut French three-quarter double bed with a double sprung mattress. There are exposed beams, a stone fireplace and a fantastic view of the the harbour. This room also has a bunk bed. Attic bedroom: The master bedroom takes up the whole of the top floor. The dormer window has a picture-postcard view over the Beck , harbour and village, and a side window has a view out to sea (see views below). Here you can watch the coming and going of local fishing boats, and the ebb and flow of the tide. There are stripped oak floor boards, exposed roof beams and an antique walnut French double bed – with a double sprung and pocketed mattress.
Parking: Parking is at a premium in the village, but there is a parking permit that comes with the house. Cars can be parked a few yards along at the end of the nab, on the quayside. Extra parking is available in the paying car park for £4.00 per day. what people say who've stayed in the cottage: '
